Catherine Porter
Catherine Porter graduated magna cum laude from the Salesian Pontifical University in Rome with an STB. She is consecrated, meaning she has taken the vows of poverty, chastity, and obedience, much like sisters and nuns, although she lives out her vocation in the world, not in a convent. Prior to her arrival in Boonton, Ms. Porter spent a number of years living in community with other consecrated women, where she received formation in the spiritual life and spiritual accompaniment, in addition to her studies in Philosophy and Theology.
A native of Seattle, Ms. Porter also received a BA in Spanish and a BS in Applied and Computational Mathematical Sciences: Discrete Math and Algorithms from the University of Washington. Math puzzles and language remain two of her hobbies, along with travel, anything outdoors, and spending time in prayer with her Husband (yes, Jesus!).
Ms. Porter currently serves as the Director of Women’s Discipleship for the parish of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, where she leads several women’s small groups, serves on the Pastoral Team, and offers spiritual direction. Ms. Porter also serves on the Chaplaincy Team for Our Lady of Mount Carmel School and Lumen Gentium Academy. Additionally, she acts as Secretary of the Board of Directors of Imago Dei Behavioral Health.
