Scholarship Opportunities

 

Academic scholarships are awarded based on a student’s middle school transcript and the application interview. Students who earn scholarship offers will be notified along with their admissions decision.

  • The St. Philip Neri Scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate a sincere desire to grow in servant leadership through academic excellence, exemplary character, and particular concern for others.

    St. Philip Neri is the patron of joy. His affable nature, grounded in faith and nurtured with humility, made him popular with all he encountered. Inflamed with contagious love, Philip won friends for God wherever he went.

    Recipients of this award will be expected to embrace St. Philip Neri’s cheerful and humble commitment to charity in all aspects of their LGA experience.

  • The St. John Henry Newman is awarded to students who demonstrate a commitment to academic inquiry across subject areas.

    St. John Henry Newman was a brilliant thinker, compassionate pastor, and faithful friend who prioritized education and personal understanding among the laity as well as clergy. He also prized authentic relationship and shared learning, and he left a legacy of community that even today remains vibrant on college campuses across the country.

    Recipients of this award will be expected to combine a passionate search for truth with a collaborative and friendly spirit.

  • The Dorothy Day Scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate an extraordinary commitment to civic-mindedness and community impact.

    Dorothy Day was passionately committed to bringing Jesus’ Sermon on the Mount to life for all she encountered. Her cause for canonization was opened in 2000 with permission from St. John Paul II and has recently reached the Vatican.

    Recipients of this scholarship will be expected to follow Dorothy Day’s example through a commitment to peace, a passion for justice, and particular concern for the oppressed.

  • The St. John Paul II Scholarship is awarded to students who demonstrate a particular appreciation for the transformative power of Beauty through performing arts, visual arts, or the written word.

    St. John Paul II once observed that "all men and women are entrusted with the task of crafting their own life: in a certain sense, they are to make of it a work of art, a masterpiece." Recipients of this award will be expected to cultivate their artistic gifts and talents in such a way as to bring hope and light to a darkened world.
